Wikis are powerful web sites powered by wiki software that allow for
the easy creation and editing of web pages in either a personal or
collaborative effort to build substantive and meaningful web pages on a
variety of topics. Wikis are often open for public editing which allow
wiki sites to be very dynamic and useful.
PmWiki
PmWiki is a free PHP script that looks and feels like a normal web
site. However, the pages can be edited by users and new pages can be
crreated to expand the web site. Knowledge of HTML or CSS is not
necessary.
The administrator of the site can allow public editing of the pages or
can limit the editing to approved authors.
PmWiki is fully customizable which means that the administrator can
easily change the appearance of the site and pages to provide a unique
looking web site. A variety of skins and templates are also available.
